Résumé of Gysbert Quaadman

Bert began his fencing career in 1939 as a young Officers Candidate at the Royal Military Academy, Breda, the Netherlands. 

In November 1991, he joined the Staten Island Fencing Club.  He initiated the drafting of the Articles of Association

in 1993.  Since 1994, he has held the office of Secretary/Treasurer of the SIFC.

Bert won a gold medal in Saber at the Veteran's Competition, age group 70/75 at the National Competitions at Salt Lake City, UT.1994 and a bronze medal in saber at the Veteran's Competition, age group 70/80 at the National Competitions at Louisville, KY. in June 1995.

He attended the1995 World Cup Competitions in The Hague, the Netherlands, as an Associate of the US Fencing Team.

Bert is a member of the United States Fencing Association. 

He has served as an instructor at the SIFC for beginners foil and saber since 1995.
