Steve Khinoy

Steve has coached fencing for over 30 years at the club, high school and college levels, founding successful fencing programs at three high schools and one
college. His students have included an NCAA All-American, an A-rated USFA fencer, a PSAL individual champion, and an NCAA conference individual silver medalist. Both his Tottenville HS and McKee-Staten Island Tech HS teams have been runners-up in the PSAL, and his CSI team won  the CUNY Conference. The 2010 MSIT boys' foil team were PSAL Champions. At least three of his students have gone on to become coaches on their own.
  
Steve is the publisher of SwordPlay Books. He has been chairman of the Metro-NY Division of the US Fencing Association and a member of the USFA Board of Directors. He is a co-founder of the US Fencing Hall of Fame and the recipient of a service award for his contributions to USA Fencing (the USFA). He is former president of the Rochester, NY Fencing Club and the Fencing Section of the New York Turnverein.
   Steve is a graduate of Harvard University (B.A.) and Johns Hopkins University (Ph.D.)

Susan Monardo
Assistant Moniteur, USFCA-AAI

Susan Monardo joined the Staten Island Fencing Club in 1997.  Her outstanding record in

Coaching the youngest fencers led her to become just the second President of the SIFC.

She has studied foil, saber and epee, concentrating on providing the Beginner Fencer with a comprehensive and technically sound foundation in which to build their fencing future. 

Many of her students have enjoyed successful fencing careers. Her organizational abilities, winning personality, and dedication to the sport make her, and her fencers, winners.

Her inititative and persistence have brought the club to a high level of success in its new location.

Susan serves on the Board of the Metropolitan  Division of the USFA  and is a member of the US Fencing Coaches Association and the USFA.
