Staten Island Fencing Center got its start in 1980 as the Staten Island Fencing Club. Over the years, it made its home in college cafeterias and multipurpose rooms, church basements, the CYO center, and New Dorp's Scout Shack. (Thanks to all!) In the summer of 2010, we made the giant leap to our own dedicated facility -- a full-time location with permanent fencing strips, an armory, and a pro shop. At Staten Island Fencing Center, we try to bring out the full potential of everyone who enters our doors, both as fencers and as people. No matter how young or old you are, no matter how much or little you know about fencing, you will find a welcome, an opportunity for practice and instruction, and a place to develop your skills.
